De Waterhof Primary School in Delft has been a Dynamic School for 10 years. This makes it an exception. Of the 6,500 primary schools in the Netherlands, only 52 are Dynamic Schools. In the Gelderse Vallei region, municipalities are working towards an environment in which healthy learning, living and development are self-evident for all children and young people. A BRC professional (Broad Scheme for Combination Functions) is a professional, such as a community sports coach or cultural coach, who connects sport or culture with other sectors. In 2026, schools in North Brabant will once again receive support to green their schoolyards. The Netherlands Youth Institute is calling for platforms and their business models to be addressed instead of imposing an age limit on social media. The NJi is responding to the United Kingdom’s decision to follow Australia, Greece and Canada in introducing a ban on social media for children under the age of 16.
The 2,860 children who have been exempt from compulsory education on the grounds of their religious or philosophical convictions must attend school after all. However, they will be given time for a careful transition. This is set out in the guideline published by Ingrado, the professional association for compulsory education professionals.
