In an interview with RTV Connect, Jaece explains how he came up with the idea: “I thought, what if we came up with a stone that you can sit on so that other children can see when you have no one to play with? Then other children can invite you to play or have a friendly chat with you.”
The first Never-Alone Stone was, naturally, placed at the Johannesschool. In July 2025, a second stone followed, at De Troubadour. For Jaece, that was a special moment, as he told RTV Connect: “I didn’t expect it to become this big. But I’m happy that children at other schools can benefit from it too.”
In July 2026, a third Never-Alone Stone was placed, this time at De Laarakker. This took place in the presence of Mayor Ahmed Marcouch, who wholeheartedly supports the initiative. The municipality of Arnhem and Rotary would like to establish a Never-Alone Stone at every primary school in Arnhem.
