On National Tap Water Day, drinking water companies in the Netherlands draw attention to drinking tap water in primary schools and out-of-school care. Register your group(s) and receive free educational materials, including discussion posters, videos, experiments, quizzes and fun energizers.
The package also includes the Tap Water Day poster for the classroom. In addition, the teaching materials include a digital lesson with animated videos and a quiz, an escape room, craft vlogs, experiments and a water taste test. This way, you can organize a splashingly fun Tap Water Day lesson in no time!
There are also creative extras, such as the Tap Water Day song and various (movement) challenges and measurement activities, allowing pupils to learn about water and drinking through play.
Does the date not work for you? Register anyway and choose your own time during the school year.
National Tap Water Day is organized by the drinking water companies. Vewin, representing the drinking water companies, is a partner of the Food Education Platform, in which the government, businesses, academia (WUR), education and civil society organizations work together in a Public-Private Partnership (PPP) on objective education about food and nutrition for children. Two educational programs that the Food Education Platform works on are Smaaklessen and Smaakmissies.
Within the Food Education Platform, an independent Supervisory Board and Assessment Committee oversee the policy, objectivity and content of the Food Education Platform's materials.
