1 Getting young people moving: motivations and barriers
How do you encourage young people to exercise and ensure that they sit less? During this webinar, Marieke Fix (practitioner in Health, Sport and Exercise), Bastiaan Plaizier (ROC Amsterdam), and Mike Peters (Stanislas Beweeg-vmbo/mavo) spoke with a number of young people. They discussed young people’s sports and exercise behaviour, as well as their motivations and barriers when it comes to sport and exercise. During a round-table discussion, various factors influencing young people’s sports, exercise and sitting behaviour were also discussed, as well as how you can respond to these. During this session, participants received plenty of tips for involving young people and working together on motivations and barriers.

2 How to encourage exercise from birth
How can you get children aged 0–2 moving in your role as a youth healthcare professional, childcare worker or paediatric physiotherapist? During this webinar, we looked at the environment in which these youngest children grow up and at the example set by parents and caregivers.
David Woutersen (Sportbedrijf Rotterdam) took viewers through a practical example from Rotterdam concerning parents’ motivations and barriers when it comes to exercise with young children. Sanne Veldman (Mulier Institute) delved into the latest insights into the needs of professionals working with young children, based on various surveys.
The webinar concluded with a panel discussion on how to get started practically with exercise for these youngest children. Yrsa Wagemaker (Huis voor Beweging) and Maartje Boots (Hoera kindercentra) joined the discussion.
