The webinar discussed how performance pressure manifests itself in secondary and secondary vocational education and which factors contribute to it; this can vary considerably between different pupils and students. Participants gained insights from recent research and practical experiences of professionals who work daily to promote mental well-being in education.
A practical tool was also introduced during the webinar, featuring concrete tips and interventions to reduce performance pressure, school stress and dropout, and to strengthen the well-being of pupils and students.
Together with experts Kjell Winkens, project officer for Well-being at School at Trimbos, Liza Poppens, school psychologist and educational psychologist at Yuverta secondary vocational education, and Margot Peeters, associate professor at Utrecht University and core team member of the Regional Knowledge Workshop Youth and Family Centraal, the relationship between performance pressure and well-being at school was explored. Particular attention was paid to diversity in causes and solutions, both for secondary vocational education and secondary education.
