What does the research involve?
In this research project, the Louis Bolk Institute will measure the effects of the renewed teaching programme ‘Know what you eat’ among secondary school students and teachers. In this free online teaching package from the Netherlands Nutrition Centre, students learn independently about healthy, safe and sustainable food. The package is aligned with the core objectives for the lower years of pre-vocational secondary education, senior general secondary education and pre-university education, and is suitable for senior secondary vocational education.
What are we looking for?
The Louis Bolk Institute is looking for teachers and students in the lower years of pre-vocational secondary education (VMBO-TL), senior general secondary education and pre-university education:
- who DO use this teaching programme at the beginning of the 2022/2023 school year.
- who do NOT use this teaching programme at the beginning of the 2022/2023 school year. You may, of course, use the teaching package after the Christmas holidays.
Will you take part? The Louis Bolk Institute will then ask you to complete a (digital) questionnaire about the feasibility, appreciation and perceived impact of the teaching programme, and to have your students complete a (digital) questionnaire twice with questions about their knowledge, attitudes and behaviour regarding healthy, safe and sustainable food. Each questionnaire takes only around 10 to 15 minutes to complete. Sign up directly via the contact form.
Why take part?
- You and your students will contribute to scientific research.
- Your experiences and insights will provide the Netherlands Nutrition Centre with guidance for improving the teaching programme, helping to create a healthier generation.
- As a thank-you, you will receive a crate of fruit for your class.
- You will have a chance to receive a visit from a healthy food truck at your school.
