The week features inspiring activities, such as the keynote by Jitske Kramer and a VR experience for teachers.

Why?

There are still students who feel excluded and try to adapt, but end up struggling with themselves. Students who, because of their background and upbringing, have their own norms, values and ways of interacting, and who feel that they are not being heard. Or students who, because of their disability or impairment, are treated as a separate group and treated differently.

What does this require of you as a teacher?

Creating a pleasant atmosphere in which everyone feels included requires awareness and expertise on your part as a teacher. Do you recognise the norms and values from which you practise your profession? Are you open to experiences and realities that you do not immediately recognise? Become more aware of who you are and better at what you do. Show your students how important it is to learn about others and to make new agreements together about how you interact with one another. This way, you can mean even more to your students and help shape the atmosphere in the classroom.

How do you do that?
