Teachers want to teach outdoors more often

Outdoor learning is not only good for children's academic performance, it is also great fun! That is why more and more teachers want to go outside with their students more often. They expect outdoor lessons to have a positive effect on students' academic performance. By regularly offering standard lesson material outdoors, children discover, investigate and learn through play and with much more enjoyment. Unfortunately, teachers often lack the space and outdoor teaching materials needed to teach outdoors. Jantje Beton and IVN Nature Education help schools by working with teachers to promote outdoor learning through the organization of National Outdoor Learning Day.

Outdoor learning is not only fun, but also good for development

It is widely known that being outdoors is good for children. By teaching lessons outdoors, children are exposed to natural daylight and fresh air. This helps reduce fatigue and improves mood, and may also have a positive effect on children's ability to learn.

Outdoor learning provides room for challenging education

An outdoor lesson also gives teachers opportunities to provide more challenging lessons. These are lessons in which students figure things out for themselves, collaborate extensively and use their bodies and senses while learning. Exercising while learning is not only good for children's physical health, but also has positive effects on cognitive processes.
