It is no coincidence that Presikhaaf School Furniture supports the Rewards Campaign, says Burgers. “A few years ago, we embraced the subject of ‘movement’ and have been setting things in motion ever since. For example, with sit-stand furniture, we supported research by Lex van Delden of Leyden Academy on Vitality and Ageing, who investigated the effects of seated and standing learning at the Lorentz School in Hilversum. We also see the many publications about the adverse effects of the fact that pupils sit still too much at school. That is why we consider it very important to encourage children to get moving, and our sit-stand furniture can help with that.”

A few years ago, Presikhaaf School Furniture came into contact with Jongeren Op Gezond Gewicht and exercise therapist Yolanda van Hoorn of Zit met Pit! “We immediately liked the idea, because we deliberately work with partners on initiatives that get children moving. At the same time, we consider it important for a child to sit properly.” Van Hoorn had by then also established Wieblie, the platform for learning through movement. Ultimately, this led Presikhaaf School Furniture to launch the Rewards Campaign together with JOGG and Wieblie. “We wanted Wieblie to participate, so that teachers could turn to a platform that tells them how to put learning through movement into practice. The same idea lies behind the Rewards Campaign as a whole: we want to encourage schools to think about what they can do as a school to promote learning through movement.”
