Do you already have a sustainability plan? Do you need help preparing a business case? Are you curious about the possibilities of innovative procurement? The afternoon programme consists of a joint opening, during which a school board and municipality share their experiences from an ongoing pilot project. We will then offer you opportunities to get started yourself by choosing two topics from the workshops below:
- Taking an integrated approach to policy & accommodation plans – How do you develop a sustainable multi-year investment programme for educational accommodation? This requires partnership and a shared willingness to make agreements. Being willing and able to decide together how available funding streams are used. What guidance can be provided when drawing up an Integrated Accommodation Plan (IAP) that also incorporates sustainability ambitions?
- Quick wins in energy saving – What steps can you already take towards simple forms of energy saving? We will discuss small interventions that cost little. For example, gaining insight into energy consumption, minimising standby consumption and setting the heating system for energy-efficient operation. In practice, this can quickly achieve energy savings of around 10%–20%.
- Business case & pooling funding streams – Substantiating a decision to invest in making schools more sustainable starts with gaining insight into the exact costs and benefits (the business case). Do you have questions about your local business case? Present it to our experts during this speed-dating session. They will review it with you and provide tips and tools to help you move forward independently.
- Innovative or traditional procurement – Is more money the solution to everything? How can you create value through alternative contract forms in a period of rising construction costs and tighter budgets? How can ambitions such as (educational) flexibility, eliminating natural gas and a healthy indoor climate be incorporated? In short, how can the process be organised differently and what will it deliver for you?
- Improving cooperation between schools and municipalities – How can you ensure that decisions are guided more by overarching objectives and frameworks, rather than getting stuck immediately in technical details and financial considerations? How do you clarify your own ambition, role and contribution? Who is responsible for what? How can you achieve an optimal form of cooperation between the municipality and the school board?
Your questions are central during the workshops. The aim is for you to go home at the end of the afternoon with answers to those questions. Participation in a practical session is free, but you must register in advance. Interested? You can register here!
