Connection with school and class
Digital remote education may not be ideal, but according to Boon-Mens, the article explains that it can offer a solution to children and young people who would otherwise receive no education at all. A combination with in-person education may also be possible. For these students, digital remote education can be seen as one of the means of providing an appropriate education offering. This allows them to stay connected with their school and classmates.
Development of remote education
We need one another for the further development of remote education: parents, students, schools, educational partnerships, the government and everyone else committed to supporting students. So let us work together to ensure that students who are unable to attend school (regularly) can continue to make use of remote education, both now and in the future, at home or at another location.
For Boon-Mens, a comprehensive offering of remote education means that:
- Every classroom has a webcam so that students who are ill can continue participating in class from home.
- Every educational partnership has a support offering for remote education for students at risk of becoming unable to attend school, as part of the comprehensive offering in the region.
- Every student who is not enrolled at a school can claim remote education as a temporary alternative.
