On 26 May 2021, the nominees have the chance to become the ‘Most Sporty Secondary/Special Secondary School in the Netherlands 2021’. The KVLO (Royal Association for Physical Education), NOC*NSF and Stichting Special Heroes Nederland are organising this election for the eighth time.
Nominations
The following secondary schools have been nominated:
- ‘t Atrium – Amersfoort
- Calandlyceum – Amsterdam
- Montessori College – Nijmegen
The following schools have been nominated in special secondary education:
- VSO De Twijn – Zwolle
- VSO Kristallis Aventurijn – Nijmegen
The road to the final
The full jury will visit the nominated schools before the award ceremony on 26 April. A tour and interviews with the school management, the physical education department and three pupils are on the programme. The entire visit will be filmed and a compilation of the jury visit will be made.
Announcement of the winners
The election can be followed digitally by everyone this year! During the final on 26 May, a sporty celebration will be held at each school’s own location. There will be a sports programme for pupils between the start and the award ceremony. At the end of the morning (special secondary education)/afternoon (secondary education), the live award ceremony will take place and the prizes will be presented.
Prizes
The Most Sporty Special Secondary School in the Netherlands will win a two-day water sports trip to Robinson Crusoë Island, provided by Menzis. The winner of the election for ‘Most Sporty Secondary School in the Netherlands 2021’ will receive a €4,500 gift voucher. All other nominated schools will receive a €1,500 gift voucher. These gift vouchers have been provided by the companies Bosan, Janssen-Fritsen and Nijha.
The prizes for the best sports presentation by the secondary/special secondary school are provided by AirTrack Factory. TIG Akoestiek is providing a healthy lunch.
