During Mud Day, children discover what mud is, how they can play with it and what their connection with the earth means to them.

International Mud Day

The idea for International Mud Day arose at a World Forum meeting in 2009, with the aim of giving children the essential positive experiences of nature.

Marc Veekamp (IVN) brought Mud Day to the Netherlands in 2013 and developed it further together with Schuttelaar and partners. Internationally, Mud Day is celebrated annually not only in the Netherlands but also in Nepal, Australia, Scotland, England, Tanzania, Bangladesh, Mexico, Flanders and the United States.
