Commissioned by the Ministry of Health, Welfare and Sport, the NCJ is working from April through December 2025 on the project alcohol and substance prevention among young children. The NCJ is creating communications material for parents/carers of young children (aged 2–12), so that they can prepare their children more consciously for future temptations.
Why?
Alcohol use is harmful to the development of children and young people. Research shows that education at a young age is not yet effective, because it does not connect with children's world and the things they are concerned with at that time. Nevertheless, it is important to pay attention to alcohol and substance prevention from an early age, because values and norms are also unconsciously passed on to children by their families from a young age (the earlier you start, the more you gain).
Why participate?
In an interactive format, the NCJ wants to ask children about their ideas and wishes. Their input is very important. They are the ultimate target group, and the NCJ wants to include their voices so that parents can prepare their children more consciously for future temptations.
Practical information
Teachers of Year 6 and/or 7 can register until 12 May. The NCI will coordinate the school visit with the school. The school visit by two NCJ prevention advisers will preferably take place during one of the last two weeks of May.
