Why these meetings?

On 1 January 2019, the Improved Reporting Code came into force. An assessment framework was added to the existing reporting code. This assessment framework is intended to make it easier for professionals in education and childcare to apply the reporting code. Veilig Thuis’s role as an advice and reporting centre has been expanded. In order to prevent children from disappearing from view after moving or for other reasons, Veilig Thuis has also been given a so-called radar function.

Purpose of the meetings

At these meetings, teachers, childcare professionals and other professionals involved in education and childcare will receive targeted information about the Improved Reporting Code and how to apply it. The cooperation between education, childcare and Veilig Thuis will be explicitly addressed. After the break, participants will split up into learning tables, where the main focus will be on practical challenges. Based on the brochure ‘The Reporting Code in Practice’, topics such as high-conflict divorce, the parent check, sharing concerns about children and holding conversations with parents will be discussed at these learning tables.
