About the theme ‘Balance: moving with media’
Can you watch television in a healthy way? And how much screen time is too much for my child? You may have been asked these questions by a parent or caregiver. They are perfectly reasonable questions, because sooner or later every child starts using digital media. It is fun, can be educational and can give parents just that little bit of extra breathing space during a busy day.
We all want children to grow up healthily with media. That is why parents and caregivers pay attention to the right balance between media use and other activities. And between sitting still and being active. As professionals, we can support them in this.
During the Media Ukkie Days, we will explore how children read, listen to or watch media within this balance. Lying on the sofa, or active instead? From far away, or up close? And for a long time at once, or alternated with other activities? In short, how do they move with media?
Moving with media can contribute to a healthy balance between movement and sitting. There are many ways in which we can inspire children and parents to get moving with media. That is why we provide inspiration, guidance and practical tips for healthy and active media use.
On the Media Ukkie Days website, you can find Tips for moving with media, as well as Activities in the Netherlands during the Media Ukkie Days.
