Trommel zonder Rommel initiative
Through the Trommel zonder Rommel initiative, parents are encouraged to provide healthy food and drinks for their children to take to school, so that children can make the most of their day.
If your school considers healthy food important, Trommel zonder Rommel can be a useful tool for informing parents and carers about healthy food. Providing information is one of the ways to involve parents and carers in what the school is doing about nutrition. A brochure has also been developed for this purpose.
The Trommel zonder Rommel initiative was created through a collaboration between GGD ZHZ, JOGG Zuid-Holland Zuid, Jong JGZ and the Netherlands Nutrition Centre. GGD West-Brabant and JOGG Breda are also participating. In the JOGG municipalities, the initiative is brought to people’s attention. Lidl Nederland is also giving it national attention.
Lidl is a partner of the Food Education Platform, in which government, businesses, academia (WUR), education and civil society organisations work together in a Public-Private Partnership (PPP) on objective education about food and nutrition for children. Two educational programmes developed by the Food Education Platform are Taste Lessons and Taste Missions.
