The Week of Love aims to familiarise schools with the theme of relationships and sexuality. It is a good starting point for addressing relationship and sex education across the school in an enjoyable way.

What does the Week of Love involve?

During this Week, lessons about love are given throughout the country! If you participate, you give at least one lesson about relationships and sexuality. The demonstrably effective Lang Leve de Liefde teaching package, for example, is highly suitable. Of course, you can also use other recognised teaching materials, preferably as part of a continuous learning pathway. Use the overview cards for this.

2022 theme: Love for yourself

The theme of the Week of Love 2022 is: Love for yourself. When it comes to love, young people are often focused on others: How do others see me? Am I normal? What does the other person want? But this is also a stage of life in which young people discover their own identity. For example, in relation to sexual orientation, self-image, their own body, what their boundaries are and what feels good. This week gives teachers tools to address these topics during lessons.

Structural attention is the ultimate goal

This annual project week helps schools put themes such as ‘Resilience’, ‘Safe sex’ and ‘Sex and the media’ on the agenda more often. Ultimately, it is a stepping stone towards giving structural attention to this theme and giving it a place in your school plan.
