Programme
Host Splinter Chabot will guide participants through the programme. There will be inspiring speakers who understand the challenges education professionals face every day. There will also be various workshops in which you will discuss practical situations and gain knowledge that you can use in the classroom the very next day.
Keynotes
Behavioural specialist Bart Heeling offers a fresh and inspiring perspective on student behaviour. He shows how their behaviour is often related to how safe they feel. He also demonstrates how you, as a professional, can make a difference in the moment. Through humour and recognisable examples, you will learn how snap judgements arise and how you can make more conscious choices about how you respond. This leads to greater motivation and development among students.
For some students, discrimination is part of everyday life. They feel excluded because of who they are. This can cause a great deal of stress and harm their health. Because reports are not being made, schools sometimes assume that there is no problem. Hanneke Felten shows how schools can change this and create a safe school for everyone.
Target audience
The conference is aimed at education professionals (teachers, special educational needs coordinators, care coordinators, confidential advisers, safety coordinators, school leaders and administrators) in primary education, secondary education, special education and vocational education.
Live and online
You can attend the conference live at Gooiland Hilversum. School & Veiligheid charges a fee of 49 euros for this. Would you rather participate from home or school? That is also possible. There is no charge for this. The keynotes can be followed both live and online. In person, you can choose from two workshops; online, there will be one workshop session.
