Over the past few years, the initiators have been working hard to develop the Charge Your Brainzzz programme to improve the sleep of young people in the Netherlands. CYB has already been implemented at a number of schools, but thanks to funding from the Brain Foundation, the initiators have been given the opportunity to further develop and scale up CYB so that all schools in the Netherlands can use this programme. During the kick-off, the initiators will present the results of this first pilot and outline the plans for the next three years.
It will be an inspiring meeting full of insights, strategies, and solutions that can be implemented by schools and municipalities. The meeting will be held in a hybrid format. Those interested can attend in person or join digitally.
About Charge Your Brainzzz
The Charge Your Brainzzz approach was developed, among others, by Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam, GGD Amsterdam, the University of Amsterdam, and GLOS Educatief, with funding from the Brain Foundation and ZonMw. It was developed based on the latest scientific insights and in close collaboration with teenagers, parents, education and healthcare professionals, and policymakers. Together with teenagers, parents, and professionals, the main causes of sleep deprivation among teenagers were identified, and various materials were developed with them. In addition, all materials were extensively presented to teenagers and teachers, who assessed them for appeal and usability.
