Together, they are depaving and greening the village and creating a biodiverse ‘outdoor classroom’ of approximately three hectares where children can become acquainted with nature. The project focuses on a number of pillars. A local ecological network with new and existing landscape elements will be established, including rows of native trees, tree and shrub belts, small woods and nature-friendly ditch banks. More space for greenery will also be created in the schoolyard. In addition, the local permaculture garden will be further expanded, with the aim of promoting greater awareness of the principles of food forests and agroforestry. A network of paths and experiences will also be created across the site, helping village residents to better understand the importance of biodiversity. In short, this project will strengthen local biodiversity and teach young and old more about the importance and beauty of nature.
