Why is physical activity at school important?

Only 57.8% of children meet the physical activity guidelines. According to these guidelines, 60 minutes of moderate to vigorous physical activity per day is essential for proper cognitive, social and motor development. Children spend a large part of their time at school. Schools therefore play an important role in encouraging physical activity among children.

How can you incorporate more physical activity into the school day?

It is clear that more physical activity at school is useful and necessary. But how can you implement this practically during the school day? Active learning is a method for encouraging more physical activity at school and during lessons. Through physical activities, new information is taught and learning material can be practised and made more comprehensible.
