Specialist Spotlight: Metacognition (Cross-phase)

As schools continue to support pupils to become increasingly independent and effective learners, metacognition is receiving growing attention in research and in the context of SEND reform. This session explores how evidence-informed approaches can help pupils understand how they learn, develop effective learning strategies and take greater ownership of their learning and progress. Drawing on research and guidance, we will consider how metacognitive approaches can be integrated into everyday teaching and learning across a range of contexts.
