    Specialist Spotlight: Metacognition (Cross-phase)

As schools continue to support pupils to become increasingly independent and effective learners, metacognition is receiving growing attention in research and in the context of SEND reform. This session explores how evidence-informed approaches can help pupils understand how they learn, develop effective learning strategies and take greater ownership of their learning and progress. Drawing on research and guidance, we will consider how metacognitive approaches can be integrated into everyday teaching and learning across a range of contexts.

Session 1 of 3: Leadership and Culture

The opening session explores what it takes to build and sustain an inclusive culture across a group of schools, rather than in a single setting. We begin with your own role: what working strategically actually involves, where your time is best spent, and who else needs to be on your team for that work to land.
