Look at a Child With Different Eyes
The apple doesn't fall far from the tree...
He has a potato after his own pace...
It's instilled in me from birth...
Familiar expressions in our language. But how true are they and to what extent do we encounter them in our work at school?
We will work on this aspect during team training. We are inspired by the philosophy of systemic work. We learn to look at children with a systemic view. Systemic work does not see a child as an isolated individual but as part of a family, a larger whole. And sees a school as a system, a group to which you belong. The people within the different systems influence each other. A child is therefore influenced by the family, by the teacher and by classmates. If a child comes to class with good feelings from home, then that has an effect. But if there is one pupil within a group who does not feel comfortable, then that has an effect on the entire system with which he/she is involved.
A Place of One's Own
During the training, you will learn interventions that you can do to give everyone the feeling that they belong. How to approach difficult feelings and give them a place. And you will learn how to give your students the feeling that they can take their own place, which increases their self-confidence.
Systemic work is a wonderful tool for teachers to teach well.
The result of those interventions:
- Children feel more at ease within your group, feel heard, seen, known
- Children get the feeling that everyone belongs
- The child becomes aware of his feelings
- Where this happens, behavior changes and peace arises within your group
- There is more understanding for each other
- The ability to concentrate is increased
- Conflict patterns change and bullying behavior disappears
- And where that happens, a child learns better, motivation increases, results improve, and the child goes to school with more pleasure
- And when that happens, you as a teacher will experience that working in your group costs you less energy and gives you more job satisfaction
Systemic Work: Duration of Training
A training in systemic work always starts with a conversation between the management and Rudy. From this conversation follow-up actions are drawn up and custom work is delivered.
This team training can be an awareness of what can be achieved after 1 day. It can also be a longer trajectory in which Rudy is present at school several times. These can be team-related moments or individual coaching. Customization is always possible.
Getting to know systemic work is also possible. We will then organize a workshop of one to one and a half hours. You can indicate on the registration form what type of training you would like to request.
Incompany
This school guidance is offered incompany, within your own school or board and with a group of participants composed by yourself. We ensure that the emphasis of the training is adapted to your situation. Contact Semko to discuss options and rates.
