Description

Reading pleasure and learning to read are the most important goals for a primary school. It starts with the toddlers and in group 3 it really gets going and there is a lot of attention for technical reading. For most children this is a wonderful time in which a new world opens up for them.

Reading Quickly is Nice, But Reading Well is Even Nicer

However, after the first half year of group 3, you see a change in motivation in some pupils. The method used is no longer new, the routines are ingrained and the children know very well whether they can read or not. This realization is not a party for every child. You see the same effect when a method is purchased for group 4 and older children. It is great that it exists, but the pleasure in technical reading is at least as important as the flat practice of word rows or reading books without meaning.

Motivation is not achieved by offering the same work forms and books day in day out. Sometimes you really have to look beyond what is normal. Reading pleasure is of great importance.

Reading Pleasure, That's What's Important

Reading scores increase significantly when technical reading is focused on. There are many different exercises that can give reading instruction a huge boost. Time and the right techniques will ensure development. All students can learn to read at the level that suits them with the right attention.

What Do We Offer

In a two-hour afternoon (or a morning) we show teachers and let them experience the possibilities to give reading education a positive impulse. We offer many different working methods. The variety of working methods ensures that there is something useful for every teacher/class. During the training we hand out a handout in which all activities that can be used are written out.

In addition, we help set up a schedule that can be used in every class. In this schedule, various work forms of your choice are set aside in time.

The training is enjoyable and practical. This is not a dull course with difficult theory, but a course where teachers are given direct tools to apply in the classroom.

Attracting students is not the right approach. Reading with pleasure is much more important than being forced to read.

For Whom

This training is intended for schools that want to use different techniques to improve technical reading, teachers who value reading pleasure and schools that want reading in the group to be fun and where everyone shows development.

This training can also be combined with technical reading interventions.

Incompany

This school guidance is offered incompany, within your own school or board and with a group of participants composed by yourself. We ensure that the emphasis of the training is adapted to your situation. Contact Semko to discuss options and rates.
