Annelies Brouwer is a Mindmap specialist. She has a lot of experience in giving training courses on this subject. In addition to being a Mindmap specialist, Annelies works as an interim internal supervisor and gives training courses on the subjects; 'positive teaching' and ' Technical reading '. Annelies has developed 'Compliments in the classroom' and the associated course. She also coaches starting internal supervisors and teachers.
Description
Positive teaching and compliments. How often do you give a compliment? And how often do you receive a compliment? Probably less often than you would like. Because what does that do to you? Unexpectedly, in the middle of the city street, you are addressed about your stylish clothing style. Or during sports, you are told that your technique is particularly good. Exactly, that makes you happy. Better yet, it makes you shine. It sheds a different light on the day that lies ahead of you. From this perspective, we will also look at the students in your class. It has been proven that compliments positively influence and strengthen relationships between them. The students at school achieve better results and become more self-confident when they receive a compliment from the teacher more often. Because what is rewarded, will be repeated.
For Whom
For teachers of groups 1 to 8, classroom assistants, internal supervisors, child coaches, and school leaders.
Result

In addition, you will know how to use compliments to transform your classroom atmosphere into an atmosphere of appreciation, learning, cooperation, and recognition.
All participants receive the 'Compliments in the classroom' cards so that everyone can get started the next day.
Meeting Content
1. Group formation – If we experience as children that our presence is appreciated and that our ideas and activities are valued, this helps us to develop a good basis for personal growth and for making contacts with others. Children who feel appreciated and are often complimented develop a strong sense of self-confidence. They also convey this in their contacts with other children.
2. Growth mindset & learning pit – Sometimes you see adults in a bind. They are frustrated because they are not succeeding. Some people would quit after the first attempt or even worse they do not even start. How wonderful would it be if we taught children from a young age how to deal with setbacks. How would we teach children to become more resilient?
3. Compliments in the classroom – When you have managed to create a pleasant pedagogical climate in your classroom by using the elements of positive teaching, you also want to pass this on to your colleagues and students. All students within the entire school must have appreciation for each other and also express this to each other. For this they must learn to look at each other to see what is being done well. This ensures fun in cooperation, fun in learning, and enjoyable breaks.
4. Practical examples & lesson ideas – We will work with many practical examples. Afterward, you will have enough inspiration to use in your own class. All ideas are collected in a reader.
