Workshop | Outdoor Play Education Workshop

A workshop about developing and learning in and with a natural learning environment.

After this workshop, you will be inspired to take your children to a green area in the neighborhood. There you will play outside the old-fashioned way. Tag, running, building huts, jumping, throwing, hide-and-seek, climbing. In this way, you work playfully on muscle strength, coordination, motor skills, but just as importantly, on social skills such as self-confidence, cooperation, resilience.

Everything a child can learn, it learns best outside.

BSO

Whether you have just agreed with your team to spend more time outside with the children or whether you have been doing this for years. The Buitenspelenderwijs workshop will provide new inspiration for playing outside and being outside. We will play outside for two hours as you used to do yourself, we will substantiate the importance of this and in between we will take the time to talk about the thresholds you encounter and how you can rethink or solve them.

Daycare

During the workshop for professionals who work with young children, we will pay a lot of attention to picture book adventures. Because playing outside based on a story is super logical, fun and easy with the youngest.

Group 1 and 2

We let you experience for two hours of outdoor play how easy it is to be outside with your class and with how little to no preparation that can be done. Emerging literacy and numeracy, creativity, spatial orientation, motor skills, vocabulary, executive functions, everything you want to cover within a theme, can be done outside. During the workshop for professionals who work with young children, we pay a lot of attention to picture book adventures. Because playing outside and learning based on a story is super logical, fun and easy with the youngest.

Group 3

We let you experience for two hours of outdoor play how easy it is to be outside with your class and with how little to no preparation that can be. Learning to read, write, calculate, practicing executive functions can all be done outside by discovering and playing with everything you encounter in nature. Making words with stones, doing sums with pine cones, writing with a branch in the sand. Once you see it, you can do all your method lessons or lesson goals while playing outside. Together we discover the importance of playing outside and learn and think about the thresholds that exist.

Group 4-8

We let you experience for two hours of outdoor play how easy it is to be outside with your class and with how little to no preparation that can be. World orientation, investigative and discovery learning, group formation but also your math, language and spelling lessons, everything can be done outside playing with what you encounter in nature. Together we discover the importance of playing and learning outside and think about the thresholds that exist.

IB/Coach/Management

Do you not work with a group of children, but do you want to inspire your colleagues or others, because you see and experience the importance of playing outside in the green yourself? Or do you want to write a (strategic) policy plan or vision about learning through playing outside, then this workshop is definitely suitable. You will definitely go back to your team with an enthusiastic story or can give the right words to what you want to describe.

Parent Meeting

Do you want to involve parents in learning through playing outside? Of course, because that is also part of the solution to go into the green with the children more often. We like to take them outside, into nature around the location/school. For example during an information afternoon/evening about learning through playing outside or your new policy plan in which this is an important part. We let your parents experience why playing outside is so important. They are guaranteed to go home with a smile. Also nice at the start of the year, when the parents still have to get to know each other. Then you kill two birds with one stone.
