Today's youth are playing, communicating and learning more and more with new media. This is mostly playful, but they must also learn to use media consciously and critically. New media offer great opportunities but of course there are also disadvantages. Teachers can make an important contribution to youth media literacy.

Would you like a brief update on what your students are doing on the Internet and social media? Would your like concrete tips on their online social safety? Or do you want to help them recognize (fake) news? Learn more about it in our interactive workshops!

The workshops below are a selection from our offer. Is your desired workshop not listed? Please contact us to discuss the possibilities.

Youth & Media Literacy
Informative session offering insight into the digital experiences of children and youth. What trends do we see when it comes to their use of the Internet, social media and games? What do the latest studies say about the relationship between digital media and their worldview, friendships and (mental) health? Topics such as influence, disinformation and online social safety are discussed.

Social safety on the internet
Educational Workshop - Safe on the InternetThe workshop is about the influence of the online world on the social safety of young people. We start with an introduction about the digital world of children and/or adolescents. Then we discuss, on the basis of case studies, topics such as online peer pressure, privacy and sexual transgression. Practical exercises are provided to work with young people on these topics.

Opinions and facts: how to deal with online (dis)information?
Young people place less and less value on independent journalism and get their news mainly from online sources, such as social media. As a result, they regularly come into contact with fake news and conspiracy theories. In these workshops we discuss what types of fake news there are, the reasons why it is made and a step-by-step plan to recognize it.Practical exercises are provided to discuss this with young people.
