Description
We are going to take a look behind the scenes of the learning process based on Feuerstein's philosophy .
Children learn. The birth of a child is the birth of a learning process. A child that learns is a child that develops. And every child does that in his or her own time. Parents stimulate their children to learn and teachers at school continue that. Nowadays we have wonderful methods at our disposal that are successful with most students. These students neatly follow the mapped out path of their development.
But then there are also the students who do not follow this path, who 'deviate from the norm'. And that is where it gets exciting. Fortunately, we then have tools at our disposal to provide these students with extra guidance. But what to do if they do not follow this path, if our own creativity is exhausted and appropriate education for this student does not seem to succeed...
Then Reuven Feuerstein (1921-2014) says the following:
'Love me, but don't leave me as I am. An individual has no ceiling in development. But the brain is like a muscle, it needs to be trained!'

Result
After this workshop, you will have a better understanding of the 'hidden basic skills' that children need to be successful in their school development, but which are underexposed and possibly even completely unknown within education. It can be used for the group as a whole, but it is precisely those children who score below or far above the norm who will benefit most from it.
Because you are now more aware of these underlying skills, you are also better able to choose other interventions. You will go home with a new perspective on learning and you will receive materials to get started right away with a new approach to tasks.
All this offers you new possibilities and insights, when the development of a student or group stagnates. The learning pleasure of your students is also increased by this and therefore it will also have a preventive effect with regard to dropout and demotivation.
