Workshop | Executive Functions in NT-2 Students

Then register for our online workshop, Belinda Herrewijn and Matthijs van Gils (orthopedagogue and teacher) will take you on a 2-hour workshop in which they will provide you with the knowledge tools to integrate executive functions into your daily teaching practice in an accessible way.

Why executive functions? Executive functions, which we call Brain Powers, are crucial for successful learning and functioning of students. They include skills such as planning, emotion regulation, flexibility, working memory and more. For NT-2 students, who are dealing with language barriers and adjustment challenges, strengthening these functions is extra important.

Practical tips for daily teaching practice: simple and effective ways to integrate executive functions (Brain Power) into your curriculum. Examples and case studies of successful implementations. Interactive activities and assignments for students.
Support and work attitude: specific strategies to improve the work attitude and task orientation of NT-2 students. The use of visual aids to help students plan and organize their work.
Low-threshold attention to executive functions: how you can strengthen executive functions within daily routines. Techniques to integrate executive functions without extra burden for you and your students.
