Workshop: solution-focused child conversations is a workshop that is given at your school with a group of your own composition. This can be during a meeting or for example during a study day.

In our work in education we are used to talking to the students. And if we see that the learning results are disappointing or if we observe behavior that we are not satisfied with, we are used to discussing this with colleagues, the IB-er or the parents. We then talk about the student. We make beautiful plans, set goals that must be achieved within a certain time and get busy.

But what if we talk to the child? If we have a serious conversation with them? Many students can express their needs very well, can tell you as a teacher what they need to achieve different behavior or better results. You will be amazed at the knowledge that children have about themselves. You will discover this by talking to children. You will discover that your students can come up with good solutions for what you are up against.

Talk to Children Instead of About Children

You can use child conversations for behavioral problems, withdrawn behavior, or bullying behavior, with a lack of concentration, for all those conditions that are necessary to achieve learning. And you can use child conversations to increase learning skills. What can you do together with the student to achieve better results in spelling or partial sums.

During this workshop solution-focused child conversations we will work with the theoretical knowledge about child conversations. What do we mean by it and when and how do we apply them?
- Working with scale questions and the miracle question
- We will work practically with various conversation skills. Skills that ensure that the child remains the owner of the discussed problems. And skills that allow you as a teacher to get the information you want.
