Workshop | AI as Your Instructional Design Partner

Using Generative AI to Support K-12 Teaching and Learning

In this four-part online workshop series, K–12 teachers will learn how to use generative AI as an instructional design partner to create clearer explanations, concrete examples, visual representations, student-friendly analogies, differentiated supports, and formative assessments.

• Who: K–12 teachers from all subject areas
• Format: Four interactive online workshops across one academic year
• Focus: Using generative AI tools to support lesson planning, abstract concept teaching, differentiation, and formative assessment
• Experience Level: No prior AI experience required
• Activities: Hands-on AI practice, lesson design, peer discussion, reflection, and classroom application

What You Will Gain

• Learn how to use AI tools for lesson planning; Use AI to generate lesson ideas, activities, examples, explanations, and classroom materials
• Make abstract concepts easier for students to understand; Turn difficult ideas into concrete examples, analogies, visuals, scenarios, and step-by-step explanations with AI tools.
• Presentations and participation in a peer learning network.
• Be able to offer the enterprise license of a cutting-edge, high-quality learning platform—Colleague AI—to their participants, free of charge for 3-months.
