Best For

1st Grade2nd GradeKindergarten

Larrikin Puppets provides this fun, reflective Show Review activity to our school, library and public audiences. It’s designed as a teachers resource – a curriculum aligned activity to carry out with children aged 5-7 or students F-2 after seeing our puppet show.

Providing the Show Review activity is an opportunity for students to “experience being an audience” and “to respond to others’ art” by making “early evaluations of artworks expressing what they like and why”, as outlined in the Australian School Curriculum.

Whether you’re a teacher carrying out this activity at school or a parent at home, it’s an opportunity for children to:

Learn how to reflect on the puppet show they’ve just seen.
Learn how to give the puppet show a star rating out of 5 by filling in the stars. For example 5 stars: Excellent, I loved it! 4 stars: Very good. 3 stars: Average. 2 stars: It was OK. 1 star: I didn’t like it.
Experience what it’s like to have their ‘Show Review’ published online.
Pick their favourite puppet character (write the puppet’s name or draw the puppet in the theatre curtain).
