Description

This webinar will provide Teaching Assistants with practical advice and guidance around how best they can support children and young people's ability to learn more independently.

Teaching Assistants have become an increasingly important part of pupil development in many schools and colleges. The number of TAs have significantly increased since the turn of the century, with more and more schools and colleges reliant on their ability to help support class teachers and reinforce classroom learning.

In this webinar, Amjad Ali will explore how TAs should be looking to improve learning outcomes through encouraging pupils to take more responsibility for their own skills development, realising different levels of intervention and becoming a more visible part of classroom teaching.

Learning Outcomes

Outcome 1: Understanding how your role as a TA should support pupils to better manage their own learning and development
Outcome 2: Recognising how to use a self-scaffolding framework to develop greater pupil independence
Outcome 3: Identifying teaching strategies that both encourage and inhibit independent learning
Outcome 4: Understanding how you can ‘add-value’ to the learning process and better work in tandem with teachers
