Introduction
Supporting a child with both Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) and Oppositional Defiant Disorder (ODD), can be challenging in a learning environment. This webinar, presented by Fintan O'Regan, enables you to learn strategies to allow such learners to achieve their academic potential.
Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder or ADHD is an internationally validated medical condition of brain dysfunction in which individuals have difficulties in controlling impulses, inhibiting appropriate behaviour and sustaining attention. The net result of this is educational, behavioural, social and related difficulties. Oppositional defiant disorder (ODD) is a childhood disorder that is defined by a pattern of hostile, disobedient, and defiant behaviours directed at adults or other authority figures. ODD is also characterized by children displaying angry and irritable moods, as well as argumentative and vindictive behaviours.
Course Description
This one-hour Webinar is offered to help an educator to understand what is ADHD and ODD and to apply effective evidence based strategies to help the educator to manage the child’s behaviour and encourages the child to learn to take effective control of their behaviour.
During the one-hour Webinar Delegates will understand that ADHD is a Triad of core features:
• Poor Attention Span
• Excessive Impulsivity

ADHD often overlaps with Oppositional Defiant Disorder or ODD which refers to children who exhibit the following persistent behaviours
