Training | Youth & Media

Today's youth are playing, communicating and learning more and more with new media. This is mostly playful, but they must also learn to use media consciously and critically. New media offer great opportunities but of course there are also disadvantages. Besides parents, teachers can also make an important contribution to youth media literacy.

Learning Objectives

Deze training heeft als doel om leraren inzicht te geven in de digitale belevingswereld van kinderen en jongeren en om handvatten te geven om leerlingen te begeleiden bij het gebruik van nieuwe media.

Na afloop van de training:
Heeft u inzicht in de digitale belevingswereld van kinderen en jongeren;
Kent u de voor- en nadelen van nieuwe media;
Weet u hoe te handelen in het geval van vervelende online ervaringen bij kinderen en jongeren.

Content Training

In this training start we first take you into the digital experience of young people. What trends do we see when it comes to children and young people and their use of the Internet, social media and games? What do the latest studies say about the relationship between digital media and their worldview, friendships and (mental) health? Topics such as influence, disinformation and online social safety are discussed.

Finally, the most common unpleasant experiences on the Internet are addressed: peer pressure, online bullying and online sexual abuse. On the basis of case studies we will work with these topics.

Target

Deze training is gericht op leerkrachten basisonderwijs en docenten voorgezet onderwijs. Er is geen aanvangsniveau van toepassing.

De inhoud van de training wordt afgestemd op de betreffende sector.

Duration & Cost

The Youth & Media training takes one half-day session. The training is provided at your school for €850.

The maximum number of participants is 15.
