Maplewoodshop’s Standardized Training Approach
Maplewoodshop ensures uniform scalability of training across classrooms, providing a structured approach to developing woodworking skills through a three-step process.
Goal Setting – Based on educators' objectives, Maplewoodshop designs a structured pathway for skill development, utilizing a library of student-tested projects.
Online Training – Teachers gain access to an online learning platform featuring instructional videos on safety, room setup, logistics, and basic tool usage (1 hour).
Live Training – Lessons introduced online are reinforced through hands-on practice. Educators complete a woodworking project using the same tools, materials, and techniques as their students (2–3 hours). Live training is available in person or via Zoom.
Comprehensive Training & Support
Maplewoodshop provides training for all educators, ensuring accessibility regardless of prior woodworking experience. Support is available Monday through Friday, from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM Eastern Time, via telephone, email, or FaceTime. Additionally, teachers can engage with an online community of experienced Maplewoodshop educators through the learning management system.
Ongoing Guidance & Resources
With 90% of participating teachers having no prior woodworking background, Maplewoodshop equips educators with the confidence and skills needed to lead woodworking sessions effectively. A background in woodworking is not required, as Maplewoodshop provides comprehensive training, step-by-step instructions, curriculum maps, pacing guides, and prepackaged tools and materials. This structured support ensures that educators can successfully implement an engaging, hands-on program that reinforces classroom learning.
