Window of Tolerance Training

With the training 'Window of Tolerance' from Oerkracht Academie you will be made aware of the signals that young people show when they are outside their 'window of tolerance'. Every child has a different 'window'; some large and others small. It is crucial for professionals to understand when young people are reaching the limits of their 'window' and how they can help them to return to a regulated state of focus.

For whom?

This training is intended for professionals and teams within healthcare and education. The goal is to create awareness about what can happen to young people and also to understand what happens to them. During the training, the focus shifts from the young people to the professional themselves. We use challenging activities such as slackline walking, zen boxing and music to create awareness about what these experiences do to us. In a final assignment, the professionals will also present something to the team, in which they reflect on what this does to them and what they can use for regulation. The professionals are also given the space in the training to develop their own toolbox for their workplace. After the training, you will not only have new knowledge, but also the experience and practically applicable tools.

What to Expect

The morning starts with a presentation and an inspiring video explaining the concept of Window of Tolerance. Then we get to work with creative and interactive activities, such as set spotting, slacklining, music and group assignments, to think together about the principles of regulating and making contact.
We will delve deeper into questions such as: How do you make contact with the target group you work with? How do you recognize signals of stress? How do you use music and other tools to help young people stay within their 'window of tolerance'?

Where and When

The workshop can take place at Oerkracht Academie or on location, such as at school or your own organization. It is a day training with possibilities for follow-ups.
