Parental Involvement
A positive parent-school relationship leads to an increase in learning results and the well-being of the child. However, good cooperation between parents and school is not always self-evident. By working together, each other's influences can be strengthened and supplemented with the aim of optimising the learning and development process of the child; this can then be referred to as an educational partnership. In order to achieve this, parents will have to be sufficiently involved in the school.
In this training, the teacher and/or the school team learns to shape an equal collaboration with parents from different starting points. A good relationship between parents and school is essential. The question is: 'How can this relationship be strengthened from the school?'
Parts:
- What is parental involvement and educational partnership? What are the essential aspects of the collaboration with parents?
- From theory to practice. What does this mean for me as a teacher and for our school team? How do we want to shape the collaboration with parents and what is our vision for this collaboration?
- Parental involvement in daily practice. Using practical examples, we look at which approach is possible to further shape. What steps are needed to take? What attitude and skills does this require?
Goal and result:
In this training, the teacher and/or school team will receive an answer to the question: 'What is parental involvement and educational partnership?' In addition, the essential aspects in the collaboration with parents are discussed and translated into educational practice. What does this mean at school and teacher level? Together, the joint vision is formulated and discussed in what way the collaboration with parents is shaped. Which steps, attitude and skills are required for this?
