The handle is made of the highest quality, resilient FSC-certified wood (hickory). The handle is thicker and textured, giving your child a good grip when using the hammer.

Children tend to hold the hammer just below the head. The red handle encourages them to hold the hammer at the base of the shaft. This helps your child hold the hammer correctly to make the striking motion.
