Description
Valentine’s Day Hop Scotch Coding is a fun, unplugged introduction to block-style coding for Kindergarten–3rd grade. Working in small groups, students build a coding sequence on the floor using mats, then take turns following the code from START to STOP. Sequencing arrows, looping mats, and Valentine-themed movement cards help students practice sequencing, loops, and flow control through active, hands-on play.
The PDF resource includes teacher instructions, coding concept posters, START/STOP and sequencing mats, looping mats, and 14 Valentine’s Day movement (condition) mats. Designed to build foundational programming skills that transfer to coding apps and languages, it’s ideal for computer science, gifted education, and Valentine’s Day activities.
