Lesson Package

The numbers don't lie; the number of children with physical problems such as back and neck complaints, poor posture and myopia as a result of screen use is increasing alarmingly. High time for action and prevention!

Zit met Pit! is a scientifically based lesson program for children in groups 5-6 of primary education. Children learn everything about healthy behavior around screen use in a playful way.

Both teachers and parents are involved in the lessons.

Pietje Pit

“Hi, I’m Pietje Pit! I’m in group 6 and I’m crazy about watching YouTube videos and gaming. Before I go to school, I’ve often played a few levels. Oh yeah, I recently got my own smartphone!”

Pietje is the main character in the program. He takes children into recognizable situations and lets them talk to each other about all kinds of current topics such as screen time, exercise time and other online issues.

The lesson package is a recognized Healthy School activity within the Sports and Exercise vignette.

Contents

The lesson package is suitable for groups 5-6 in primary education. The program consists of 6 lessons of approximately 30 minutes.

Instead of telling children how something should be and what is good or bad, we let children think for themselves and reflect on certain situations. And of course all of this in full motion!

Teachers also get access to a module with ready-made Moving Learning lessons so that movement becomes a fixed part of the school day, and remains so, even after the program has ended.

And it doesn't stop with us after the last lesson!

In order to give attention to movement during the lesson a permanent place in your lesson day, teachers also get access to a module with Moving Learning lessons. These lessons are linked to learning objectives from the curriculum and can therefore be used in your regular lessons.

If your school starts with the lesson program, all teachers at the school can use lessons in this module, including the groups where the program is not running.

Costs

With a school license, you can teach the curriculum in all groups at your location, regardless of the number of students.
