Patterns are everywhere in nature!

Did you know zebras look like they’re wearing stripes because their black and white fur creates a repeating pattern? What other animals or plants do you think have patterns like this? Discover the amazing patterns nature has to offer!

Nature is full of patterns if you take the time to notice them.

Patterns in nature can be as big as the changing seasons or as small as the tiniest details on a leaf. You see patterns in animals, plants, weather, and even the sky!

Here are some examples:
- The stripes on a zebra or tiger.
- The shape of leaves and the veins running through them.
- Weather patterns, like sunny mornings and rainy afternoons.
- The way the sun moves across the sky every day.

Try an activity:
1. Go outside and find three examples of patterns in nature.
2. Draw what you find or describe the pattern to someone.
