Elementary school Lesson Idea | Teamwork: Cup Stack

Ms. Sepp tried the cup stack activity with her third and fourth graders. Some of her students complained about not being allowed to participate in playing games, and Ms. Sepp thought that the cup stack was a great way to show what teamwork looked like. It also allows them to learn in a safe environment.

The students are divided into six groups. They have to figure out a way to make a pyramid with just some cups, rubber bands, and string. The students are not allowed to touch the cups with their hands or other parts of their body. Afterwards, they discuss some of the challenges they faced and their thoughts about teamwork.
