Description

In this experiment, students will investigate how changing the length of an instrument affects its pitch. Students will create a straw trombone and experiment with changing its length while observing how the length of the vibrating object changes the sound produced. Through this activity, students will explore the relationship between the length of the vibrating object and pitch. They will learn that as the length of the vibrating object increases, the pitch drops. By using the straw trombone, students will observe how adjusting the length can create different sounds.
