Lesson Idea | Storytelling: The Art of a Good Yarn

This is a compact, classroom-ready 2nd-grade unit on storytelling (from the Mensa Education & Research Foundation) that introduces the history and purpose of stories and develops practical storytelling skills, voice variation, body language/movement, story-mapping (story mountain), use of props, and audience engagement, through short mini-lessons, games, guided practice, and a final performance; assessment rubrics and teacher notes are included to make implementation easy.
