Lesson Idea | Rosie Explores Chemical and Physical Change
You’ll explore the exciting world of chemical and physical changes through a series of cool experiments by Rosie Riveters!
With an adult's help, you'll follow the step-by step instructions. You’ll start with a simple activity by crumpling a paper towel to see how it changes its appearance while still being the same paper towel. This is an example of a physical change. Next, you’ll light the paper towel on fire and observe what happens when you cover it with a glass. Watch for smoke and interesting smells. Then, you’ll mix baking soda with lemon juice to create a colorful, fizzy reaction. Finally, you’ll use Alka Seltzer and water to create a chemical reaction that will blow up a balloon.
