Grade Levels: 3-5, 6-8, K-3
In this research skills lesson plan, which is adaptable for grades K-8, students use BrainPOP and/or BrainPOP Jr. resources to conduct independent and/or collaborative research on a selected topic. The focus of this lesson is to support students in identifying their interests and following their passions in an educated manner. Students will share their research findings with the class using web 2.0 tools or other presentation methods.
Students will:
1. Conduct independent and/or collaborative research on a selected topic.
2. Share research findings with the class using web 2.0 tools or other presentation methods.
Materials:
1. Access to BrainPOP's website or mobile app
2. BrainPOP Expert Certificate page from BrainPOP Educators
3. Computers for students to use or mobile devices
Preparation:
The focus of this lesson is to support students in identifying their interests and following their passions. Help your students connect to their world and learn about things that are important to them! To prepare for the lesson, you'll need to print out the BrainPOP Expert Certificate and make a photocopy for each student.
