Description

Teaching spelling can be made interactive through a method known as Kinesthetic Spelling. In this approach, the teacher plays an active role in guiding students as they learn the focus sound of the week, such as the short /a/ in "cat." Students begin by standing behind their desks and squatting to vocalize the initial sound. They gradually rise while repeating the /a/ sound, culminating in a jump to say the complete word. For visual learners, writing the word on dry erase boards between sounds enhances understanding.
